About the Live Music Kit

The kit contains sound and lighting equipment suitable for solo artists or performing groups for an audience up to 300 people. Exact specifications of the equipment available will be discussed between successful applicants and the Cultural Officer and Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre technical team.

The kit will be available for a maximum of 12 hours per applicant/event. This includes transport to the venue, set up, sound check, performance and pack down.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to use the Live Music Kit your performance/event must;

  • Present live music in a park or public place in the Wagga Wagga LGA – suggested locations can be found at https://wagga.nsw.gov.au/community/plan-an-event/organising-your-event
  • Be a one-off community-led, small scale event (under 300 people) for all ages
  • Provide an opportunity for local artists to perform and develop skills/audiences/networks
  • Take place by 30 June 2025
  • Be free to attend

Do I need to provide any other information? Yes

  • Details of the performer/s and/or community group using the Live Music Kit
  • Technical requirements – if successful you will be required to attend a production meeting with the Cultural Officer and Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre technical staff.

The Fine Print - you should read this:

  • You are encouraged to read and utilise the resources on Council’s website that outlines some key points in planning an event
  • Through the loaning of this equipment Council will cover the insurance for the kit items but is not liable for any other expenses involved with the performance/event. All insurances, permits, permissions etc required for an event are the responsibility of the event organiser.
  • Performers are responsible for their own instruments, this kit contains sound and lighting equipment only.
  • A COVID-19 Safety Plan in adherence with the current NSW Health Orders may be required for successful applications – Council staff will be able to assist and further information can be found at https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/business/safety-plans
  • Outdoor events will be prioritised in the application process, however indoor events will be considered if seen as suitable (eg a youth band performance in a community hall)
  • A calendar of availability will be coordinated between the Cultural Officer and Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre – you can nominate your preferred dates in your application.
